Position Overview

This Maintenance Supervisor will be expected to become the successor of the present Maintenance Manager. This role is responsible for the safety, training, and necessary tools for the maintenance shop craftspeople.  This person will work with the Maintenance Planner to assign job tasks for all craftspeople in the Maintenance shop.  The Maintenance Supervisor will communicate to the Maintenance Planner the work that was completed on a daily schedule.    This person should set the priority for all craftspeople based on communication with the production manager and team leaders.  Occasional hands-on work will be required.  The Maintenance Supervisor will report to the Maintenance Manager.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assigns daily work to crafts people and distributes work packs.
  • Determines priorities and alters daily schedule as required.
  • Obtains information for emergency parts requisitions.
  • Arrange for contractors to perform emergency and planned jobs.
  • Provides information on carryover and on-going jobs.
  • Provides information to Scheduler for updating daily work schedules.
  • Ensures daily work is completed; work packs are completed.
  • Completes report on reasons for not meeting schedule.
  • Provide technical support to craftspeople for both electrical and mechanical tasks.
  • Obtain quotes from contractors on capital projects.
  • Oversee contractors on both capital projects and maintenance corrective work orders.
  • Audit craftspeople performing PMs.
  • Performs regular coaching evaluations for all craftspeople.
  • Reviews all work orders and creates new corrective work orders from work order feedback.
  • Arrange for coverage of vacation and sick leave for shift Maintenance Techs.
  • Participate in the Indorama Ventures, Covington FOX Reliability Pillar.
  • Lead efforts to control costs in the maintenance department.
  • Report KPI’s that are required by the Plant Engineer.

 

 

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production/maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years in supervision and leadership
  • Minimum 3 years extensive experience with trouble-shooting and correcting equipment maintenance - breakdowns and failures.
  • Proficient in maintenance reliability
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety, OSHA standards, ISO standards, and quality control.
  • Proficient in budgeting, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in using a CMMS database preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs.
