Position Overview
As a Plastics Extrusion Process Operator at Indorama Ventures, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring extrusion machinery in the production of synthetic fibers. You will ensure efficient operation of extrusion lines to produce high-quality materials, adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in plastic extrusion, excellent technical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime. This role involves adjusting extrusion parameters, conducting routine inspections, and collaborating with other teams to meet production goals.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plastic extrusion equipment to ensure proper function and consistent product quality.
- Adjust machine settings (e.g., temperature, pressure, screw speed) to optimize the extrusion process.
- Conduct routine inspections and cleaning of plastic extrusion machinery to prevent breakdowns and ensure consistent operation.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with plastic extrusion equipment to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with Maintenance and technical teams to address more complex malfunctions and optimize machine performance.
- Work with team members and supervisors to streamline the extrusion process and increase production efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine adjustments, and equipment performance during shifts.
- Participate in training programs to stay updated on new extrusion techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
- Perform quality control checks on extruded products to ensure they meet required specifications, including dimensions, strength, and appearance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.
- Monitor raw material levels, ensuring timely coordination with material handling teams to prevent production delays.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Plastics Extrusion Process Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of plastic extrusion processes, equipment, and materials.
- The ability to read and interpret technical documents, extrusion profiles, and machine diagrams is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, particularly in monitoring extrusion parameters and product quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, procedures, and best practices specific to plastic extrusion.
- Knowledge of plastic extrusion machinery, such as single and twin-screw extruders, is highly desirable.

- Salary for this role will be aligned to the successful candidate selected based on skills and experience.
- The expected base compensation range for the role is $20.43hr - $25.77hr.
