Position Overview

We are seeking a senior, business-oriented Salesforce professional to own the end-to-end functional process design for our Salesforce process

Acting as the functional process owner, you will lead discovery and design decisions, establish common process standards, resolve cross-functional requirements, and maintain traceability from business need through solution delivery and measurable outcomes.

This high-impact role is accountable for the functional integrity of the process landscape, the quality and readiness of business requirements, business acceptance of delivered capabilities, process adoption, and continuous improvement. Delivery teams will own technical design and execution; this role will own the business process intent, functional outcomes, and design decisions.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

Functional Process Ownership & Design

  • Own the end-to-end functional process design for Salesforce-enabled commercial capabilities, from lead and opportunity management through quoting, contracting, order hand-off, and customer lifecycle management.
  • Define and maintain global process principles, target-state process models, decision rights, business rules, controls, roles, personas, and hand-offs across functions and regions.
  • Lead structured discovery and design workshops, challenge local requirements, resolve process conflicts, and secure accountable business sign-off on functional designs.
  • Assess process gaps and improvement opportunities using business outcomes, data, risk, control, customer experience, and adoption considerations.
  • Maintain clear traceability from strategic objective and business need through process design, requirement, delivered capability, control, and measurable benefit.

Functional Design Authority & Governance

  • Act as the functional design authority for Salesforce Sales Cloud and related commercial capabilities, ensuring designs align with enterprise process principles, platform guardrails, and the target operating model.
  • Set the functional direction and approve key process decisions while partnering with architects and delivery teams on solution options, feasibility, integrations, data implications, and non-functional constraints.
  • Prevent unnecessary customization and process fragmentation by promoting standard capabilities, reusable patterns, and disciplined exception governance.
  • Define functional acceptance criteria, oversee business validation and UAT readiness, and provide final functional acceptance for releases.
  • Ensure process controls, data ownership, compliance requirements, and auditability are embedded in functional designs.

Demand Prioritization & Delivery Partnership

  • Shape and prioritize the functional demand pipeline with Business Product Owners and the Salesforce Platform Owner based on strategic alignment, business value, risk, dependency, and process maturity.
  • Own the quality and readiness of epics, process requirements, user stories, business rules, and acceptance criteria before work enters delivery.
  • Provide timely functional decisions, clarify intent during delivery, manage scope trade-offs, and ensure delivered capabilities remain aligned with approved process designs.
  • Partner with release, testing, data, integration, and change teams to confirm business readiness, adoption plans, process controls, and benefit measures.

Process Architecture, Documentation & Adoption

  • Create and maintain authoritative process architecture and functional documentation, including current- and target-state maps, capability models, business rules, controls, role and persona maps, decision logs, and functional specifications.
  • Communicate process direction, design decisions, impacts, and trade-offs clearly to senior leaders, process owners, regional stakeholders, and delivery teams.
  • Partner with change and learning teams to define role impacts, operating procedures, training needs, adoption measures, and post-release reinforcement.
  • Monitor process performance, user feedback, data quality, control effectiveness, and realized benefits to drive a prioritized continuous-improvement roadmap.
