The Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Kolkata, India supports worldwide operations through centralized IT, Finance and business process services.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and result-oriented System Administrator to join our enterprise IT operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining robust IT infrastructure, ensuring maximum system availability, driving incident resolution, and enforcing security and audit compliance standards across domestic and global environments.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Scope
1. Infrastructure & Platform Support
- Technical Support: Provide hands-on L2 troubleshooting and administration for Servers, Virtual Machines (VMs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Cloud Infrastructure, and Networking.
- Problem & Incident Management: Take ownership of complex incidents through root-cause analysis (RCA) & documentation to prevent repeat issues and maintain optimal system uptime.
- Shift In-Charge: Serve as Shift Owner for IT Helpdesk during peak operational hours to manage ticket distribution, monitor queue metrics, and maintain strict SLA performance.
2. Microsoft 365 & User Administration
- Oversee M365/O365 platform administrative duties, including user onboarding/offboarding, profile deactivation, and license allocation management.
- Seamlessly manage stakeholder communications, ticket updates, and service expectations across domestic and international business units.
3. Endpoint Security & Policy Compliance
- Enforce & maintain Endpoint Compliance (EPC) across corporate devices.
- Deploy and support endpoint security controls, including BitLocker encryption, Sophos MDR/XDR, Cisco Duo MFA.
- Drive compliance for mandatory corporate policies, including background and screensaver automated updates.
4. Audit Readiness & Capacity Planning
- Maintain continuous audit readiness across ISO 27001, Cert-In (VAPT), GDPR and statutory security frameworks.
- Prepare and present the Monthly & Weekly Capacity Deck covering GCC IT Infrastructure & Network Connectivity as per ISO standard requirements.
5. IT Asset & Service Provider Coordination
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage PR/PO generation, vendor coordination, licensing verification, and yearly maintenance/renewal contracts.
- ISP & Connectivity Management: Coordinate with Telecom providers (e.g., TATA, JIO, Sify/Cato, Bharti) to maintain WAN availability, monitor uptime, and resolve link disruptions.
- Quality Assurance & Integrations: Conduct periodic ticket quality audits (minimum 20% sample size) and work in liaison with Application Development teams (Souvik/Saikat) for enterprise app integrations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ to 5 years total experience in an L2 IT Helpdesk / Infrastructure Support role (Maximum total experience capped at 5 years).
- Technical Core: Strong L2 knowledge across Server OS, Cloud Platforms, Virtualization, VDI, and Networking concepts.
- SaaS & Monitoring: Direct administrative experience with Microsoft 365 (O365) tenant management and Infrastructure Monitoring tools.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills; demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with international teams and managing senior stakeholders.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills:
- Practical experience with enterprise ITSM and Asset Management tools.
- Familiarity with enterprise security tooling:
- Endpoint & Access: Sophos XDR/MDR, Cisco Duo MFA, ColorTokens XShield, ManageEngine Endpoint Central (UEM).
- Monitoring: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions and VAPT remediation workflows.
