Position Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Fibers Manufacturing Plant Site Head to lead our Covington, GA facility. This role is pivotal in overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Information Technology, Engineering, and Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS). The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, ensure compliance with industry standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to meet or exceed production targets and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain and improve quality control procedures to ensure product standards are met.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to address and resolve quality issues promptly

 

Maintenance Management

  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure machinery and equipment are in optimal condition.

 

Logistics and Supply Chain

  • Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain management to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to meet delivery commitments.

 

Information Technology

  • Leverage ERP systems to monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
  • Ensure IT systems support efficient plant operations and data analysis.

 

Engineering and Continuous Improvement 

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the plant to enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process improvements and new technologies.

 

Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)

  • Promote a safety culture by engaging all team members in identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.

 

Team Development

  • Manage and develop plant staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

        Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

        Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.

 

 

Skills and Competencies

        Strong leadership and team management skills.

        Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

        Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

        Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodology.

        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

 

Certifications (Preferred)

        Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

        Project Management Professional (PMP).
