Location: Any IVL European location

Reporting To: Technical and Business Development Manager

 

Responsibilities:

The technical analyst gathers and organizes technical intelligence on the strategic technology fields for Indorama Ventures Investments & Holding (IVIH); depolymerization (glycolysis/ hydrolysis/ methanolysis) bioethylene, bioMEG, bioPX. This includes the following;

 

  • Maintain a technology & IP map for each strategic technology field based on (IP) searches, open-source data and information, market reports.
  • Supports IVIH team during technical exchanges with technology developers.
  • Coordinate the interface with third parties/technology developers in order to collect data and information to complete technical analysis
  • Provide benchmarks of various technologies in each field, e.g. using process modeling, LCA’s and eventually case by case selecting and coordinating experimental work provided by third parties, and, based on the above, provide input for economic models
  • Create and maintain the IT database where all information and exchanges relevant to IVIH strategic technology fields are stored
  • Provide news updates on major shifts in the field or newcomers
  • Conduct intakes for early-stage start-ups

 

Qualifications:

  • Chemical or process engineer at MSc.+ Level with basic training in economics and IP
  • 5y experience in relevant work environment e.g. chemicals/plastics manufacturing company, technology development company, engineering firm, consultancy firm or IP firm
  • Experience with PX, PTA, EO, MEG, PET, packaging and/or recycling preferred
  • Experience with process modeling and LCA’s preferred (e.g. Aspen+, SimaPro)
  • Capability to use basic tool for process engineering design
  • Good communicator with excellent command of English language
  • Place of Work anywhere within IVL entity in Europe with ability to travel across EU 1-2x per month
